Division Description

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), is a deliberate business tool to enhance Industrial Competitiveness. Every idea or start-up would need information, facilities, and capabilities to protect IPs thus created.

Under CIPD, to promote the creation of Intellectual property, an Intellectual Property Facilitation Cell (IPFC), has been set up that will provide general advisory about IPRs, such as patents, trademarks, designs and copyrights and Services such as IP Protection, IP Awareness & Training, and Counselling & Advisory Services. Following will be services provided by IPFC:

I. Awareness creation: Educating MSME’s about Intellectual Property and its Rights (IP & IPR).

ii. IP Landscaping: specialized software tools and databases used in IP Landscaping.

iii. IPR Processing support: MSMEs will be guided through IPR filing, IP rights, and infringement of IP rights.

iv. IP Monetization: Provide guidance and knowledge regarding IP monetization via technology transfer, collaboration, and Joint Venture (JV) partnerships.

v. Collaboration: KLE-Tech-IPFC shall collaborate with IP legal entities, NIIPM, Indian Patent Office, and World Patent Office.
